When you’re running SACMI rotary machines, everything happens fast. Like, really fast. To keep that pace, your PET preforms need a massive hit of heat the second they hit the oven. If there’s a lag, you’re in trouble. That’s why we built our infrared bulbs to skip the “warm-up” phase and go straight to peak heat. The secret is in the power. We use high-wattage halogen filaments—usually anywhere from 250W to 1000W, depending on how big your bottles are. We’ve spent a lot of time matching the voltage perfectly. Why? Because we want the filament to hit operating temperature instantly, not slowly climb there. It lets us keep the bulb small without losing the heat density you need to soften that PET wall without scorching it. Built to take a beating. Rotary machines vibrate. A lot. Standard quartz tubes just can’t handle that kind of shaking, so we use heavy-wall quartz glass that doesn’t quit. We also added a specific short-wave coating to the glass. Think of it like a lens that forces all that IR energy straight into the plastic. It stops the heat from leaking back into the machine frame, which keeps things efficient. And don’t worry about the installation. We use R7s and SK15 connectors. They slide right into your SACMI OEM sockets, so you aren’t spending your afternoon rewiring the oven. They fit tight, which means no annoying arcing when the power switches on and off. The honest truth about lifespan. Here’s the thing: when you push a filament to heat up that quickly, you’re putting it under pressure. It’s a trade-off. We’ve tuned the gas fill inside the bulb to balance this out as much as possible. But if you decide to crank these bulbs to 110% power just to shave off a few more milliseconds, your tube life will probably drop by about 15-20%. It’s a fair trade for some people, but just a heads-up: keep your cooling fans clean. If they get clogged, the bulbs will burn out way faster than they should.
