
On the blow molder, preform temperature is the line between a clean bottle and scrap. When the heating tunnel drifts, you pay for uneven wall thickness, blown seams, and cycles that went nowhere. We built our PC sheet infrared lamps to hit that preform sweet spot shift after shift, on Sidel, Krones, SIPA, Husky, SACMI, and Nissei ASB machines. What matters under the hood is straightforward. These lamps run short-wave halogen emitters inside quartz tubes, tuned for PC sheet absorption and quick response. You can spec 120V or 240V, with power from 400W up to 1.5kW, and lengths to match your heating zone. Standard R7s connectors and OEM-grade filament geometry drop in with minimal rework. Peak output stays in the near-infrared band, so preforms heat fast on the surface where stretch counts, without soaking the bulk. In stretch blow molding, the window is tight. Heat the preform enough to stretch evenly, but not so much it sags. Our lamps deliver repeatable heat that keeps the heating tunnel profile stable, even when the line is pushing 1,000–1,800 BPH. You get faster warm-up, a tighter temperature spread across the preform, and fewer rejects from uneven clarity and wall distribution. Energy use drops because the emitter targets the right spectrum and heats on demand, not at full burn all the time. Installation is simple, but alignment is where people get tripped up. Set lamp-to-preform distance and reflector focus to OEM spec, or you’ll see hot spots and cold zones. These are high-intensity emitters, so keep airflow across the lamp body to manage heat, and make sure connections are clean and dry to avoid terminal overheating. Plan replacement around your PM window — quartz tubes are tough, but they age like any high-heat component. Match wattage and voltage to your existing zone, and you’ll keep the line running with minimal downtime.
