We built this little heater for engineers who need serious heat in a seriously small space. It’s a compact halogen lamp, wired for 400V and rated at 2500W, made to slip into tight spots where bigger heaters just can’t go.
The Power in a Small Package
It runs at 400V and pulls 2500W, squeezing a lot of heat into a short 300mm tube. Here’s the thing: more wattage in a smaller body means it heats up fast and responds fast. That short length gives you room to maneuver in cramped machine bays, but it also concentrates the heat. So plan your cooling ahead—this kind of power will make the surrounding area heat up quickly.
What It’s Made Of
We use a quartz tube with a halogen fill and a reflective coating that sends infrared energy forward. You get more usable heat on the target and less wasted radiation to the sides. The R7s connector is a simple two-pin setup that makes wiring easy and gives you a solid mechanical mount. And if you’re already using an R7s fixture, this drops right in—no redesign needed.
Where It Shines
On the shop floor, this setup is perfect for jobs like PET blowing and other focused heating tasks where space is tight and temperature control needs to be precise. The shortwave infrared delivers quick, targeted heat, and the compact size makes installation straightforward. The trade-off is heat density: you get rapid warmth, but you’ll need to manage heat rejection at the machine level so your components don’t get cooked.
