We built this electric fireplace heater around a 400V, 2500W halogen quartz tube. It’s 300mm long and 12mm across. Why this combo? Because it packs serious heat into a small space, perfect for that direct, radiant warmth you feel the moment you need it. Going with 400V also keeps the current lower than you’d get with a smaller voltage. That means you don’t need heavy wiring, and you don’t lose as much power along the line. The 300mm length keeps the heat focused right where you want it, without making the unit feel bulky.
The Materials and Connections That Matter
Inside the quartz tube, the halogen cycle keeps the filament stable. No blackening. Just steady, dependable output over the life of the heater. The quartz body is tough, too. It handles rapid heat-up and cool-down, and the high operating temperatures, without getting soft. We chose an R7s connector. It’s solid, low-resistance, and handles the load cleanly, so you can swap this in and get running without a fuss. And because the halogen gas keeps the filament running hotter, you get a brighter, cleaner infrared glow.
Where It Shines—and What to Watch For
In electric fireplace heaters and similar industrial setups, this design delivers fast, directional heat. Almost no warm-up. You feel the intensity exactly where you point it. But here’s the trade-off: 2500W at 400V creates a lot of heat density. That’s powerful, and it means your machine or enclosure needs proper cooling and thermal management. So before you wire it up, plan your heat paths and airflow. Do that, and you’ll get the performance without the worry.
